- This "Senior GOES-R Satellite Mission Management Engineer" position with ASRC Federal Data Network Corporation (DNC) will provide engineering support for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R series constellation as a part of the Engineering and Mission Operations Support Services VI (EMOSS-VI) team at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) located on the Suitland Maryland Federal Center.
- This position will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Satellite and Product Operations’ (OSPO) engineers within the Mission Operations Division with ground and fight systems continuously processing Earth and Space weather data from the LEO, GEO, and L1 constellations and their various instrumentation in support of customers such as the National Weather Service.
- This particular position will join a team of engineers primarily responsible for maintaining constant communication and data flow between the Geostationary Operational Environment Satellite (GOES) constellation and the supporting ground system to fulfill NOAA mission requirements.
- Mission Management is focused on spacecraft and instrument operational capabilities, including telemetry data acquisition, command and control of the satellites and their instruments, and the complex GOES-R space-to-ground (and back) communication needs.
