- Reporting to the Director of Facilities Security Operations and IT Security Systems, the Senior Access Control System Engineer performs installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair work on access control systems and related devices throughout the University.
- Installs, tests, and maintains the functionality of all field devices related to the Blackboard Transact and Lenel OnGuard access control systems.
- Performs engineering calculations to correctly size all access control electrical equipment and power distribution.
- Reviews and approves access control system design drawings for accuracy and conformance to MSU standards such as Lenel, Blackboard Transact, access control system schematics, and interconnect drawings.
- Logs, tracks and provides information related to work requests and work orders into Maximo or other CMMS systems, as well as other facilities' work issues until they are resolved by University Facilities units, departments, and staff.
