- Suggest Revision
- Monitors all safety devices such as fire alarm systems, elevators, closed circuit television systems, and telephone and radio networks; responds to emergencies if devices are activated; resets fire alarms as appropriate;
- Calls for assistance from DCHA Police Officers, District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), supervisor, medics, District of Columbia Fire Department, etc., for emergencies, complaints, violations, hazards, accidents, etc.
- Identifies each emergency at the housing facility such as floods, fires, and other hazardous conditions which could affect the safety of authorized families, individual guests, staff and property; notifies the appropriate Housing Management Office and notifies the DCHA Command Center or supervisor of such conditions if the Housing Management Office is closed;
- It is a critical job requirement that the incumbent of this position successfully pass an initial and annual renewal process administered by the Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB).
- Also, the incumbent is required to submit to all licensure requirements, i.e., thorough background/reference check and, drug and alcohol tests.
