- Under the supervision of the Parks Supervisor, Park Area Crew Leader, Pool Maintenance Mechanics, or Parks Caretakers, assists the full-time Parks Caretakers by working completely independently or leading a crew of other seasonal employees in performing unskilled to semi-skilled work in a variety of fields in the maintenance and upkeep of the public parks, grounds, buildings, athletic fields, pools, and related facilities.
- Cuts grass, maintains ball fields, maintains pools, loads and unloads dirt, gravel, trash and other debris including the collection and disposal of refuse at the park areas.
- May operate light duty vehicles, trucks, tractors, riding and push mowers, grass trimmers, chain saws, rakes, shovels, sprayers, blowers, and other hand tools.
- Performs light repairs to swimming pool structures, fences, and gates.
- Maintains and performs light repair work on equipment, pools, buildings, and grounds operated by the Parks and Recreation Department.
