- The Transplant Coordinator Nurse is accountable for the coordination of all aspects of care for the transplant patient population.
- Assesses and plans in collaboration with the patient, caregiver, and multidisciplinary healthcare team to meet needs across the care continuum.
- The American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, the United National Organ Standard's (UNOS), and the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) guidelines provide the basis for practice.
- Coordinators in Transplant must obtain either Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) or Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN) credential within three years of hire.
