- The CCU/Cardiac Stepdown Internship is a comprehensive cardiac-specific training and employment program that provides exposure and experience in both the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit. It is designed to enhance clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional development within the realm of critical care and cardiac nursing.
- The internship focuses on providing care to patients with cardiovascular diseases, including those who have undergone cardiac procedures, experienced myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock or are managing chronic heart conditions.
- This internship aims to develop the skills and knowledge in areas such as; ventilator management and various oxygen delivery devices, temporary pacemaker experience, intra-aortic balloon pump management, cardiac rhythm assessment and identification, ventricular support device management, fixed and titratable drip exposure, continuous renal replacement therapy, and effective time management.
- With 971 beds, a specialized Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center in the state with our own specialized Red Shirt Trauma Program, there are many opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills.
