Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to UofL Health – Weight Loss Care, the region’s only weight-loss management program utilizing the Lap-Band® System. In addition, the hospital provides the Orbera® gastric balloon procedure. The hospital has been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction® Center for bariatric surgery.The hospital partnered with sister facility, UofL Health – Peace Hospital to open a voluntary inpatient medical detox unit at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital to care for patients with substance use disorders. Most recently, Cancer & Blood Specialists, located adjacent to the Mary & Elizabeth Hospital campus, became the third location of UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center. At the center, patients will have continuity of care with trusted oncology and hematology providers, along with access to the multidisciplinary care, pioneering research and clinical trials of the Brown Cancer Center. In addition to the hospital, Mary & Elizabeth has three medical plazas on its campus to provide office space for a wide array of primary care and specialty physicians. Responsibilities:
Job Summary The Orthopedic Program Coordinator provides clinical and administrative leadership for the orthopedic service line. The coordinator is responsible for supporting clinical staff and physicians with the management of the orthopedic patient population through the continuum of care. The coordinator assists with program development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance. This requires maintaining applicable policies and procedures, staff education, data collection, quality improvement efforts and patient education. 1. Serves as a clinical leader, change agent and clinical resource 2. Assists in the management of patient care needs, operational issues, and resource recommendations 3. Assumes a leadership role in orthopedic program development in facilitating change to enhance delivery of services and to develop evidence-based practice 4. Analyzes and interprets data that facilitates clinical practice patterns, actively participates in areas for process improvement, and implementation of solutions that positively influence patient outcomes 5. Participates in clinical research and evidence-based practice 6. Other duties as assigned 7. Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct 8. Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to always maintain confidentiality 9. Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications • Bachelor degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program • Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky • Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association) • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart AssociationObtain Orthopedic nursing certification within two (2) years of hire Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years or orthopedic specific clinical nursing practice in a hospital Experience in quality/performance improvement systems, statistical process, or data analysis Leadership experience preferred Benefits & Perks • Competitive Pay & Benefits Options • Paid Vacation, Sick days, and Holidays • Free tuition to UofL for Part- and Full-time employees for Child/Spouse/Domestic Partner • 401K with Employer Match
