- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), under the supervision of the Supervisor and/or Lead Therapist shall deliver all types of respiratory modalities to patients as established by the department’s standard operating procedures.
- The RCP must have the knowledge and skills needed to carry out these procedures.
- His/Her knowledge must include pharmacology as it pertains to Respiratory Therapy Drugs, Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, Physiology, Acid-Base Analysis, Electrocardiography, Bronchoscopy, Holter Monitoring, C-Section stand-by, Neonatal Intubation, Pulmonary Function and Treadmill Testing.
- As well, must include indications and absolute contradictions for IPPB, Oxygen Administration, Chest Physiotherapy, Aerosol Administration and Mechanical Ventilator.
- Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of California.
