- The Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine (BBI) and Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology (Seahub) are looking for a candidate to fill a unique scientist position at the intersection of genomic technology development and computational biology.
- POSITION PURPOSEWe are looking for a Research Group Leader with a strong strategic vision and the ability to translate requirements into results, expertise in developing both novel experimental single cell molecular profiling and perturbation technologies and computational methods, and demonstrated people management and grant writing skills.
- This position will develop a vision and lead a team to drive the design, development, and execution of research on gene regulation within the BBI and SeaHub. The mission of this group will be to harness novel single cell genomics and perturbation technologies as well as novel computational approaches to work towards a foundational model of gene regulation in development and disease.
- To achieve this, the group leader will design research projects and broader research plans, train, mentor and supervivse staff members, guide execution of the research in both experimental and computational areas, foster collaborations with other research groups in the BBI and SeaHub and the broader research community, procure research funding through writing independent grants, lead the publication of research results in top journals and present at top meetings in the field.
- Building this platform and enabling the community to perform single cell sequencing will have an immediate and powerful impact on the practice of precision medicine.
