- Must have the ability to operate outside of normal working hours on a twelve (12) hour shift during activations of the State Operations Center and able to deploy from normal duty station for extended periods in the aftermath of a disaster without relief and to work extended hours.
- Must have availability for extensive travel as needed by vehicle or other mode of transportation.
- Initiates and delivers emergency management and disaster recovery programs advising and assisting local governments, emergency response organizations, non-profit organizations, regional organizations, long-term recovery groups, other state agencies and private industry with technical review and analysis of accounting practices to promote compliance with federal and state standards for disaster and emergency accounting and reimbursement.
- Coordinates activities and supports preparation for disaster recovery accounting practices (e.g., time, cost, procurement, contracts, equipment, risk management).
- Facilitates and engages in or observes local, state, and federal emergency exercises representing TDEM, the Disaster Recovery Task Force (DRTF) and the state.
