- The Engineer will be responsible for the proper daily operations of the plant and support equipment, ensuring proper maintenance of plant and support equipment, and training of naval and civilian personnel on both theoretical and operational aspects of nuclear plant operations utilizing reactors and state-of-the-art simulators or directs personnel during refueling operations as applicable.
- Conducts shutdown and start-up activities and in the event of an emergency, implements established emergency procedures.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; and Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or Qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience.
- Prior Nuclear Plant Engineer (NPE) or Crew Training Engineer (CTE) qualification (any plant) in the Nuclear Operations Program.
- The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
