- Serve as a technical expert, advisor, facilitator, and liaison for the administration of the rangeland management program in Wyoming, which includes three District Offices and ten Field Offices.
- Communicate and coordinate implementation of rangeland management program policy, procedure, grazing regulations, data calls, budget planning, and workload targets.
- Review National Environmental Policy Act documents (e.g. Environmental Impact Statements) for Bureau projects, land use plans, and authorizations that affect rangeland or livestock grazing management.
- Applying professional and scientific rangeland ecosystem management principles, practices, theories and techniques necessary to manage rangelands where livestock grazing is one of the uses.
- Planning and implementing vegetation monitoring to assess rangeland conditions and using the data to inform management decisions.
