- The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs interventional and diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician.
- Uses radiologic technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.
- Assists interventional radiologist in all types of interventional radiology procedures performed with angiography, fluoroscopy, CT, OR, and ultrasound.
- Functions in the first scrub role by preparing, organizing, and anticipating needed instruments, supplies and equipment for safe patient care for interventional radiology procedures; performs external suturing and other physician directed and supervised duties per hospital procedure.
- Competently operates all interventional radiology equipment and support systems to include HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS and teleradiology.
