- Job Title:Radiation Physicist - The JamesDepartment:Medicine | Radiation OncologyScope of PositionThe clinical physicist in Radiation Oncology is responsible for specification and acquisition of all radiation generating equipment, calibration of the treatment machines and acquisition and maintenance of all dosimetry and health-physics equipment.
- Reviews OSU radiation treatment charts and instructs personnel in principles and regulations related to radiation therapy physics, dosimetry and radiation protection.
- Position SummaryUnder indirect supervision, provides professional medical physics services at the Department of Radiation Oncology (or its outreach/affiliates) of the Medical Center.
- Provide technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy; monitor patients; maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurement, and safety; perform clinical research as required.
- This position is for supporting the Proton Therapy operations and previous experience with Proton Radiotherapy is very desirable.
