- You must be a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) currently registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- you must have two years of full-time professional experience, after successful completion of the Registration Examination for Dietitians, in the field of nutrition or dietetics.
- Substitution: A Master's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health, Public Health, Public Administration, Health (Care/Services) Administration, Nutrition Education, Health Education, Community Health, Health Care Policy and Management, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work/Social Welfare, Human and Social Services, Early Childhood Education, or Public Policy may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current DOH employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive status as a Public Health Nutritionist 1; OR New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a title at or above Grade 20 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law by meeting the Open Competitive minimum qualifications listed.
- Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience working in a multi-faceted public health nutrition program.
