- Populations that this position will work with include but are not limited to: individuals with chronic psychiatric illness (e.g., treatment resistant depression, borderline personality disorder), somatic system disorder (e.g., non-epileptic events, psychogenic movement disorders) as well as chronic pain and opioid dependency.
- The Psychology Fellow position will also demonstrate a commitment to clinical and research competency through involvement in Grand Rounds at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as well as Houston Methodist.
- Responsible for a minimum of two hours of direct supervision each week with a licensed clinical psychologist.
- The goal of the team meetings is to allow for exposure to various theoretical perspectives, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), (cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-base therapy (MBT).
- Provides contributions towards improvement of department scores for employee engagement on department scorecard, i.e. peer-to-peer accountability.
