- Methodically capture and assess data from various sources, including Power plants, transmission lines, sub-transmission and distribution systems, generators, and transformer tests, leveraging appropriate software tools (e.g., CAPE, CYME) to model systems for short circuit and coordination studies.
- Craft relay settings and execute additional tasks to ensure compliance with Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation Protection and Control (NERC PRC) regulations.
- Dispatch settings for generation and substation relays (e.g. GE, SEL, and Electromechanical) via the ASPEN relay database to field personnel, offering support to Test technicians during in-servicing or commissioning of relay settings, and reviewing/approving returned as-left relay setting files, collaborating closely with Test technicians to amend relay settings as vital.
- The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
