- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness & Response Operations (EPRO) directs and coordinates CMS programs for emergency preparedness, response and recovery, and continuity of operations.
- EPRO works with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), other federal departments and agencies, beneficiaries, health care providers, and other stakeholders in carrying out these programs.
- Internally, EPRO works with the Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA) regarding CMS essential records management.
- EPRO establishes policies, procedures, and strategic and operational plans, provides situational awareness, and conducts training, testing, exercises, and evaluations to ensure CMS' preparedness and workforce readiness to respond to natural disasters, human-caused incidents, and public health emergencies.
- Must have at least five (5) years of related experience in office and program management, specifically supporting emergency management, emergency response in the government sector, or performing IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities, such as DR testing, policy and plan development, and facilitation.
