- Founded in 1946, the Middle East Institute is the oldest Washington-based institution dedicated solely to the study of the Middle East. It is a non-partisan think tank providing expert policy analysis, educational and professional development services, and a hub for engaging with the region's arts and culture.
- The Middle East Insitute Arts and Culture Center works to promote Middle Eastern culture to U.S. audiences, change perceptions about a misunderstood region, and build bridges between the arts and cultural sectors in the U.S. and the Middle East. We host an art gallery, which features socially engaged art exhibits, organize panel talks around culture and policy, and host film screenings and other cultural programming.
- The Arts and Culture Center works closely with MEI’s policy center to integrate our exhibitions and programming within MEI’s overall mission - to inform U.S. audiences about the Middle East and to build better ties between the two regions.
- Candidate: MEI seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with an interest in the arts, knowledge of the Middle East, and strong design and social media skills.
- Supporting MEI’s Arts and Culture team in running events such as gallery openings, panels, film screenings, and other types of arts and culture events
