Job Summary: The Production Supervisor I leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Test. The Production Supervisor II is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible for meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include the management of employees on more than one shift. Essential Functions: <ul> <li>Identify and use lean manufacturing tools required to drive improvements and mentor teammates in the use of these tools. </li><li>Provide inputs (resource planning, overtime projections, productivity improvements) to management to develop monthly and annual budgets. </li><li>Assist Value Stream Managers with required monthly reporting to senior level management. </li><li>Review and understand daily key performance indicators to evaluate the current status and gap to plan, and use this data to drive daily problem solving (8 Step, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, Fishbone) where required. </li><li>Ensure timely identification of quality issues through the use of the non-conforming materials process to ensure scrap and rework are properly processed. </li><li>Serve as liaison to other groups, product lines and/or functional areas to ensure products are built, assembled, and/or tested within appropriate parameters. </li><li>Review the daily allocation of resources in order to drive production schedule to meet established customer requirements. </li><li>Make staffing decisions in accordance with human resource procedures to build and grow the team to meet the needs of the business. </li><li>Develop, coach, and mentor employees through the use of performance planning to drive employee and business growth. </li><li>Any other task assigned by supervisor or management. </li></ul>Minimum Qualifications: <ul> <li>Experience: 0-1 years supervisory experience; 3years of experience in the field or in a related area </li><li>Knowledge: <ul><li>Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices </li><li>Comfortable teaching the use of manufacturing based continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.) </li><li>Intermediate skill level with MS Office software </li></ul> </li><li>Skills/Abilities: <ul><li>Effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of the business and present to groups both small and large </li><li>Ability to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity to develop labor planning/allocations. </li><li>Ability to use data to determine root causes of issues to drive focused corrective action. </li></ul> </li><li>Education / Certification: <ul><li>Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent Required </li><li>Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred </li></ul> </li><li>Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
