This position is an invaluable opportunity to gain experience working with cutting edge technology and a variety of cell types that are significant to the rapidly emerging cell and gene therapy market. **Pay Range:** $76,000 - $95,000 Annually **Responsibilities and Tasks:** + Participate in research and development efforts for various bioprocesses based on business needs. + Perform experiments for bioprocess development, optimization, and characterization. + Draft and review experiment reports and standard operating procedures. + Assist in preparing scientific data and composing peer-reviewed scientific publications, white papers, abstracts, and presentations, including those for domestic and international conferences and trade shows. + Support root-cause analysis for unexpected results and provide new approaches or experimental strategies for problem solving. + Characterize quality attributes of cells during process development, either independently or collaboratively with a customers analytical team or an external service provider. + Support internal product improvement efforts by providing biological performance data using our products. + Collaborate with other departments for cross-functional projects. + Participate in lab maintenance tasks such as cleaning, waste disposal, and following safety and documentation protocols. + Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) as needed for the various aspects of lab management. + Establish and maintain good working relationships within the bioprocess R&D team and other departments. **Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements:** + Masters in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences or Biotechnology, or Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences or Biotechnology with 2+ years of relevant cell culture lab experience + Hands-on experience with process development on primary cells, stem cells, and stem cell-derived cells, including pluripotent stem cell, mesenchymal stromal cell, T cell or NK cell + Knowledge of bioreactors and process control, and cell characterization methodology such as cell counting, metabolic analysis, etc. + Excellent organizational skills to assist in developing detailed experimental plans + Strong oral and written communication skills including generation and presentation of accurate and timely progress reports + Excellent collaboration skills to execute large-scale bioreactor runs in coordination with other operators + Proximity to Ventura County and flexible schedule to allow for weekend work on experiments as neededWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
