- Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for performing technical transmission planning functions including development of power flow base cases, conducting contingency analyses, evaluating analysis results, modeling and evaluating alternative solutions to mitigate identified issues, performing transient stability simulations, ensuring compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards and recommending capital projects based on planning study results.
- Develop long range transmission plans in compliance with NERC Planning Standards, WECC System Performance Criteria, and Grant PUD guidelines.
- Maintain an effective level of expertise and understanding of applicable NERC Standards, WECC System Performance Criteria, and Grant PUD planning guidelines.
- Conducts or directs consultants in performing study work on the Grant PUD's transmission system.
- Develop and retain expert level knowledge of the Grant PUD electric transmission system configuration, electrical characteristics and its interaction with the interconnected network;
