- May be responsible for research, development, analysis, testing, and/or product life-cycle support in specialized areas such as core manufacturing, thermal hydraulics, propulsion plant fluid and mechanical systems, non-nuclear analysis of reactor safety, component design, modeling, simulation, procedures, shock and vibration, acoustics, or structural analysis and methods development.
- Experience with the design, system selection and maintenance of heating ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial applications Working knowledge of pressure systems, pressure system testing requirements and relief valve requirements.
- Working knowledge of the New York State Mechanical Codes, ASHRAE Fundamentals and ASME Standards.
- The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
- Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
