- Supports the implementation of the Reserve Fleet's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) including inspecting coatings conditions and potential pollution sources such as leaking machinery.
- Installs and maintains Best Management Practice (BMP) measures to support the SWPPP such as drain screens, piping blanks, absorbents, repairing or draining leaking machinery, and obtaining storm water samples for analysis if needed.
- Performs work to provide for: inspection, maintenance and preservation of vessels hull and topside coatings, including regular inspection of shipboard coatings, failed remediation involving scaling, scraping, and chipping; topside housekeeping on vessels including sweeping and trash removal, deck maintenance and repair, including of exterior surfaces.
