- The Terrones Lab ( in the Department of Physics ( at Penn State ( is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research to grow different low dimensional materials that include carbon nanotubes (single and multi-walled) as well as monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides such as MoSe2, WSe2, WTe2, MoTe2, WS2 and MoS2.
- The synthesis methods should include top-down (chemical intercalation/exfoliation) and bottom-up (chemical vapor deposition) approaches.
- In addition the researcher needs to have experience in the characterization of low dimensional materials using Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, transmission scanning microscopy, X-ray Photoelectron spectroscopy and other allied techniques.
