- The Solid Mechanics team within the T-3 group of the Theoretical Division is seeking a highly motivated and productive postdoc candidate to develop and/or enhance microstructure aware continuum solid polymer mechanics models, with a focus on predicting the mechanical response of polymers due to various damage and degradation mechanisms.
- Collaboration and experimental support from the Materials Science and Technology Division (Engineered Materials, MST-7) will help bolster material model calibration and validation.
- Education/Experience : A Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering, Solid Mechanics, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields is required.
- Located in beautiful northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security.
- Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2.
