- The candidate will work closely with Dr. Andrew Yang (PI of Human Neurophysiology & Neuromodulation [HNN] Lab) and Dr. Leon Iasemidis (Brain Dynamics Lab [BDL]) on a variety of interdisciplinary projects with a core focus on computationally-intensive analysis of big human electrophysiology datasets.
- The overarching goal is to provide translational links between human neurophysiology and clinical neuromodulation to guide the rational design of next-generation brain stimulation therapies for epilepsy as well as investigative indications in cognitive and psychiatric diseases.
- HNN has multiple collaborations with faculty throughout both Barrow and ASU in engineering computer science neuroscience and psychology.
- Experiments are conducted in human patients who are implanted with stereoencephalography (sEEG) electrodes (during inpatient admissions for seizure monitoring) or novel neuromodulation devices that allow sensing concurrent with stimulation for neurologic disease such as epilepsy.
