- Under general supervision, attend a rigorous four-month, high stress, physically demanding basic police academy designed to qualify cadets as a police officer.
- Upon completion of the academy, an appointment as a Police Officer starts at $3,024 biweekly and includes a 100% City-paid benefit package, annual uniform/equipment allowance, plus incentives for education, bilingual, and tuition reimbursement.
- Attend, participate, and successfully complete the Basic Peace Officer's Academy, maintaining at least minimum levels of proficiency at all levels of training.
- Provide staff support for police activities by performing various administrative and patrol duties.
