- Performs patrol duties, traffic control and motor vehicle law enforcement, investigation of accidents and crimes, responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and performs routine administration and support services.
- Patrols areas on foot, bicycle, motorcycle or vehicle, ensuring citizens adhere to local, state and federal ordinances, statutes and laws; responds to complaints, calls for police assistance, and reports of crime.
- Performs other duties as established by the Police Officer Standards & Training Council
- Must be at least 21 years old at time of appointment (this is a statewide requirement for Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council
- Ability to see objects far away as in driving or reading a license plate; ability to see objects closely as in reading a shift report; able to discriminate colors as in a vehicle, house color, or traffic signal.
