- Under general direction of the Chief of Police, plans, organizes and directs the activities and daily operations of an assigned unit, function or patrol shift within the Police and Security Department.
- In conjunction with the Chief of Police, coordinates staff efforts in crime prevention, patrol operations, criminal investigations, charging, radio communications and parking functions for all of the College's campuses and two TCATs∯*∯ In cooperation with the Chief of Campus Police, prepares work schedules for a continuous weekly operation, assigns overtime and approves requests for leave.
- Assists the Chief of Campus Police in reviewing work of designated employees, assists and instructs designated officers in investigations and other unusual situations and assists with training of police and security officers.
- Notifies the Chief of Police of crimes, arrests and other unusual events and coordinates with other law enforcement agencies, if appropriate.
- Responds to inquiries, requests and major incidents reported to Campus Police.
