- The Medical Physicist works closely with the radiation oncologists, chief medical physicist, director and department manager to ensure the highest standards of physics services.
- 35%) Oversees all aspects of radiation oncology treatment planning and dosimetry, including indirect supervision of the physicist associate and medical dosimetrists.
- 30%) Provides medical physics services in accordance with the highest standards of practices as required by JCAHO, NRC, MDCH, ALARA, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
- 10%) Contributes to the development of students in the department and is responsible for teaching and completing radiation therapy student competencies.
- Responsible for commissioning and acceptance of new radiation oncology equipment.
