- To provide physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist; referred by a licensed physician in accordance with the Practice Act for the State of Georgia, and the Guidelines for Professional Conduct of the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration : The Physical Therapist Assistant must be licensed to practice by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Education: The Physical Therapist Assistant must be a graduate of an APTA accredited physical therapist assistant program
- Special Qualifications: Must have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of Physical Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, modality applications, and all manner of therapeutic exercise and patient mobility treatments.
- Must be able to provide and coordinate therapy treatments with other therapy providers under the supervision Physical Therapists (PT’s) most notably Occupational Therapists (OTR’s), and Speech Therapists (SLP’s).
