Under immediate supervision of the Quality Improvement Specialist - Ombudsman, investigates and problem solves grievances raised by incarcerated persons, issues raised by family or friends of inmates, and issues raised by the New Jersey Department of Corrections or other officials of the State of New Jersey concerning matters related to medical, mental health, and/or dental treatment
<h3>Responsibilities include the following</h3>
<ul>
<li>As the Patient Representative, investigates and problem solves issues raised by inmates, family, friends and /or advocates concerning issues related to medical, and/or dental treatment at the facility.</li>
<li>Finalizes investigation with a written report to be distributed according to policy and procedure.</li>
<li>Maintains daily work logs that summarize activity for monthly and yearly reports.</li>
<li>Provides follow-up on all grievances with merit to ensure problem resolution and propose systemic solutions to remedy problems.</li>
<li>Develops monthly grievance reports as assigned by the Quality Improvement Specialist - Ombudsman</li>

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's Degree, preferably in behavioral or social sciences, plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital or other institutional health care setting with direct patient contact.</li>
<li>Valid Driver's License is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.</li>
<li>Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the educational requirements</li>
</ul>
