POSITION SUMMARY: The Party Host Attendant will create a fun and engaging experience for guests at the Party Cabanas and other venues throughout Kroc Center Hawaii including children's birthday party guests and other celebrations. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: <ol><li>Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out essential functions will be accepted.</li></ol> PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Customer service and some food service experience. Previous experience in child care or working with children a plus High School Diploma or G.E.D. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <ol><li>Ensure all parties are set up and ready to go prior to guest arrival; Check-in party guests; Set the tone of a party by providing a high level of energy, fun and enthusiasm.</li><li>Review paperwork, set up and breakdown of any equipment, supplies and activities; having attention to detail a must.</li><li>Serve food and beverages to guests; must have the ability to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift.</li><li>Respond quickly to requests from members and guests, supervisors or management in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.</li><li>Supervise flow and safety of Party Cabana areas and other party areas as applicable.</li><li>Remain visible and available to the needs of guests and be key contact point for client throughout party.</li><li>Work to ensure guest satisfaction, problem solving and notifying appropriate personnel about challenges and successes.</li><li>Inventory party supplies; prepare gift bags, balloons, signage and decorations as needed.</li><li>Once guests have left the party area, thoroughly clean and reset the area in preparation for the next party.</li><li>Assist front desk with inquiries, membership sales, booking programs and overall customer service when needed.</li><li>Adheres to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.</li><li>Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.</li><li>Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.</li><li>Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ol> MENTAL DEMANDS: <ol><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task.</li><li>Detail oriented and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure.</li><li>Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.</li><li>Ability to take projects from beginning through completion.</li><li>Respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.</li><li>Must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work.</li><li>Able to work with limited supervision, and work in a team setting with other professionals.</li><li>Exercise good judgment and comfortable taking initiative with projects.</li></ol> PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 50-75 pounds and occasionally more than 75 pounds. This employee is required to work weekends and evenings. DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most work will be outdoors in the Kroc Center Hawaii Aquatic Center as well as other Kroc Center Hawaii facilities and offices. Attendance at trainings and conferences may be required. EQUIPMENT NEEDS: Equipment used includes general office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, telephone (office, cell, PDA), and 10-key calculator.
