- The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine in collaboration with the Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for a tenure-eligible Open Rank faculty position in the emerging area of “Cancer Neuroscience”.
- This position synergizes with a number of active researchers across UVA working in the area of glioma, metastatic brain cancer, brain immunology and glia.
- The Department of Neuroscience is home of the Center for Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG), a center dedicated to understanding the contribution of the immune system to neurological disorders.
- Prospective faculty members can draw from an outstanding and diverse pool of graduate and MD/PhD students from the interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) program to support their research program.
- The selected candidate will also enjoy access to unique shared research facilities in the Department which include high-resolution single- and multi-photon confocal and light sheet microscopy, flow cytometry, and behavioral equipment.
