- Candidates will have a demonstrated record of scholarship and/or professional engagement and practice at the intersections of Strategic Communications with race, gender, sexuality, indigeneity, and/or disability.
- We are particularly interested in a colleague whose research and teaching emphasizes advocacy and organizing for social change, justice, equity, inclusion, and belonging and who approaches communications through intersectional and/or transnational lenses.
- At the graduate level, the candidate will develop and teach courses in our Masters of Science in Strategic Communications, built around and distinguished by Simmons' core values of gender, social, and racial justice and leadership.
- The position’s workload may also involve courses in the undergraduate general education program, as well as the potential of affiliated teaching in programs such as Africana Studies, Migration Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies.
- The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of applied communications theory, relevant scholarship and/or professional engagement and experience in CSR or DEI&B, and commitments to social justice exercised through integrative learning aimed at the professional and civic preparation of students.
