- Responsible for the development, coordination, management, execution, and organization of infection prevention-related quality and performance improvement activities at Montefiore Medical Center.
- This position is accountable with the Nursing Director for the overall management activities for the Medical Center infection prevention and control program all sites, which includes assistance with supervision of the Infection Prevention and Control processes, and will have a leadership role for designated special projects to ensure quality care and patient safety.
- Accountable with the Nursing Director, the Infection Prevention Committee Chairman, and Committee members in a shared governance model to plan, develop, implement and evaluate outcomes of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
- Partners with the Hospital Epidemiologist, Nursing Director of Infection Prevention, and Associate Directors in setting standards and priorities based on evidence-based literature and guidelines, evaluating compliance with policies and practices, and leading/coaching the performance improvement efforts associated with the prevention and control of hospital acquired infections and infectious exposures.
- Consults, advises and informs Hospital Epidemiologist/Director of Infection Prevention concerning administrative or other department/program issues, needs and problems.
