Currently licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. At least six (6) months practice as a Nurse Practitioner of FNP, ANP, WHENP, preferred. <ul><li>A complete history and physical exam.</li><li> Initiate consultations.</li><li> Manage minor illnesses.</li><li> Stabilize long-term illness.</li><li> Order laboratory and other diagnostic tests. (GFR/Pregnancy…)</li><li> Prescribe/order medications, treatments and devices based on the medication/device protocol jointly developed with a collaborating MD.</li><li> NP/PA reports directly to the Director of Breast Imaging and collaborates daily with the Radiologists on scope of practice.</li><li> NP/PA is to see patients in the Cape Cod Hospital Breast Care Center.( or other areas of the hospital such patients may be placed)</li><li> NP/PA is to keep the Radiologist informed of all patients being seen so appropriate physician review and involvement can be insured.</li><li> To participate in patient follow up and phone call program as assigned or requested.</li><li> NP/PA will work collaboratively and cooperatively with all physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff members of the hospital.</li><li> Assures that the patient’s rights, as identified by the institution, are met.</li><li> Assures that the patient environment is correctly maintained and administer patient care in accordance with safety regulation</li><li> Communicates all data relevant to patient and/or family needs to the health care team.</li><li> Coordinates patient care with other health team member by: Documenting and communicating data for patients with common, well-defined diagnosis/patient problem to provide continuity of care.</li><li> Functions as an advocate for patients and families.</li><li> Contributes to the nursing profession through participation in community activities.</li><li> Functions as liaison between community organizations and the institution for area of clinical practice.</li><li> The supervising physician will review all the written notes and physical exams of the advanced practice staff with recommendations for diagnostic imaging work up and interventional biopsy.</li><li> The supervising physician will participate in the evaluation of the advanced practice nurses.</li><li> The advanced practitioner will participate in a quarterly RX review as mandated by MA law.</li><li> Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management.
