- This position is located at Phoenix Indian Medical Center providing services within the Integrated Surgical Services (ISS) Dept. Unique to the specialty of Perioperative Nursing, the nurse must have a working knowledge of all four units (OR, PACU, Pre-Op Planning, and Sterile Processing), in addition to thorough expertise in surgical procedures including the following specialties: General, Orthopedic, Podiatric, Gynecological, ENT, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Pediatric Dental, and Oral Surgeries.
- Maintains professional knowledge and competency in nursing through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, participation on organizational committees, and fulfilling requirements of Certified Operating Room Nurse certification.
- Maintains open communication channels between staff members, unit leadership, hospital executive leadership, Staff Development and the Education Department.
- Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).
