- The candidate will work directly with government and contractor personnel receiving engineering oversight form the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division to support the establishment and maintenance of various networks across the NCTE enterprise environment, including IP, LAN, WAN, and MPLS among others; execute network protocols, network engineering techniques and architectures in support of Navy training and operational requirements.
- Knowledge of network standards, protocols, security, and applications; capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware; network architecture and infrastructure; local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods.
- Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking capabilities including IP addressing, switching, and routing, and a thorough understanding of the Cisco IOS platform.
- Ability to effectively use and implement modern network security, tools, and technologies including firewalls, VRFs, 802.1x, and port security.
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution.
