- The Pinellas County Department of Public Works, Division of Environmental Management is currently seeking a Project Coordinator - Administrative to oversee its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit Program.
- This position performs administrative and technical work managing and coordinating activities required under the County’s State and Federally mandated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit, and supervises Environmental Specialists engaged in NPDES compliance and outreach programs.
- Duties include implementing the County’s Stormwater Ordinance and related activities; coordinating permit requirements and annual reporting with the county departments involved; and leading the co-permittee team consisting of 21 municipalities and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
- This position requires in-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local NPDES regulations; experience in illicit discharge compliance and remediation; experience with construction site inspection and Best Management Practices; and an understanding of water quality principles.
- Implement and track all NPDES activities tasked to the Division of Environmental Management, including the Illicit Discharge Compliance Program; Sediment and Erosion Control and Spill Prevention and Response Training; industrial inspections; and related outreach efforts.
