- The Medical Research Technician at the Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC) assists with research projects focused on examining the impact of malaria co-infection on SIV-associated intestinal mucosal dysfunction, as well as how concurrent HIV infection affects malaria infection in pregnancy and subsequent infant immune development.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision under Biosafety Level 2+ conditions
- Familiarity with biomedical, microbiological, and animal research work
- The TNPRC maintains Biosafety Level 3 facilities and performs work on diverse infectious agents, many of which can cause serious disease in humans if standard operating procedures, including use of appropriate personal protective equipment, are not followed.
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 6 years of research experience in molecular biology, immunology and/or other microbiology-related disciplines
