- A Medicaid Coordinator assists residents/responsible parties with Medicaid applications to assure that the facility can bill for services provided.
- Evaluate each account to determine if the account will be forwarded to an outside company, at the resident's expense, to apply on their behalf or if the account will be processed with the assistance of the facility Medicaid Coordinator.
- Maintain continuous communication with the resident, responsible party, outside attorney, facility attorney or outside provider if the application was completed with someone other than the Medicaid Coordinator, in conjunction with the Business Office Manager.
- Request and obtain Medicaid required documents from banks, credit unions, investment firm, funeral homes, government agencies,
- Report and involve supervisor when encountering difficult situations such as uncooperative families, gifting, asset transfers, sanctions and/or non-payment of NAMI (estimated).
