- The Materials Engineer is responsible for reviewing construction materials test results such as Aggregates, Hot Mix Asphalt, Soils, Flexible Base, Concrete and Asphalt Binder to ensure materials meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
- The Materials Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and ensuring the quality of materials used in the construction and maintenance of highways and transportation infrastructure.
- This engineer will oversee all laboratory operations and staff, providing general oversight and responsibility for staff and their efforts to complete materials testing for construction projects, pavement designs, concrete mix designs, HMA mixture designs, emulsion and foamed asphalt mixture designs, full depth reclamation and forensic projects requiring borings, Falling Weight Deflectometer, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, in-place densities, and other various non-destructive testing.
- Materials Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that roads and bridges are safe, durable, and able to withstand the demands of heavy traffic and harsh weather conditions.
- Perform the Materials Engineer functions including overseeing laboratory manager and lab staff.
