- A Marine Pipe-fitter is to capable of planning, layout, fabricating, assembling, installing, repairing, and modifying piping systems, and pipe assemblies requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness on ships, boats, barges and other floating marine equipment.
- Ability to perform threading, soldering, gluing, welding and/or brazing of pipe and fittings
- The Marine Pipefitter must be able to properly use the tools of his/her trade such as wrenches, power threading equipment, power band saws, levels and other common hand tools
- The shipyard Pipefitter must have minimum of 5 year of experience with pipe fitting in the Marine Industry.
- When completing welding/brazing the Pipefitter must be certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) when performing welding/brazing on jobs requiring ABS inspection and approval.
