- Under the direction of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, perform journey-level duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems to maintain District plumbing lines in safe and sanitary working condition.
- Rebuild and replace valves and faucets; replace leaking and defective parts in plumbing fixtures and systems and repair existing systems; repair or replace damaged pipes, tubing and sewer lines; maintain District plumbing lines in safe and sanitary working condition.
- Determine problems with water systems; repair valves, faucets and toilets and assist in ordering replacement parts as necessary; repair or replace drinking fountains and related parts.
- Unplug clogged waste lines; snake, disassemble trap or replace clogged or collapsed portion of the line.
- Operate a variety of maintenance and plumbing tools and power equipment such as pipe threading equipment, power snake, trencher, boom truck, cutting torch, concrete saw, and other hand and power tools; operate a District vehicle to conduct work; clean and maintain vehicle and equipment in a safe and proper working condition.
