Our client is a manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. They operate through two segments: Electronic Instruments and Electromechanical. The Electronic Instruments segment designs and manufactures analytical, test, and measurement instrumentation for the energy, aerospace, power, research, medical, and industrial markets. The Electromechanical segment provides automation and precision motion control solutions, as well as electrical interconnects, specialty metals, and thermal management systems. Title: Wirer Work Location: Montvale, NJ, 07645 Duration: 7 Months Job Type: contract Work Type: Onsite Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <ul><li>Operate spooling machines to wind required lengths per spool </li><li>Set up spooling machines using proper winding program and adjust back tension to run the various materials and sizes </li><li>Visual inspection for surface defects </li><li>Interpret and follow shop work orders </li><li>Timely completion of work assignments </li><li>Work with Continuous Improvement team on efficiency improvement projects, etc. </li><li>Maintain a clean and safe environment by following 6S principles. </li><li>Assist department manager with any 6S initiatives and process improvement project </li></ul>Additional Responsibilities <ul><li>Maintain each machine in a "model clean" state by performing regular "Type A" cleans, as expected by procedure and work instruction </li><li>Keeping wire pulleys clean and functioning properly </li><li>Maintaining and staging in-process work material in a proper environment preventing contamination and/or damage </li><li>Cross train in different functions of the wire department annealing, inspection, packaging </li></ul>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required <ul><li>Must be able to work well with others and be able to follow company and departmental rules. </li><li>Must be able to perform duties without external distraction, such as mobile phones and personal electronic devices. </li><li>Safety conscious and able to assess risks with mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills. </li><li>Desire to use hands and learn new machinery. </li><li>Willingness to work on weekends when needed. </li><li>Willingness to learn metal elements and alloys. </li></ul>Education, Experience, And Training <ul><li>Training will be acquired on the job. </li><li>Use of inspection tools (microscope) </li><li>Equipment safety training </li><li>Basic computer skills required. </li><li>Must be able to make computer transactions into the ERP system </li></ul>TekWissen Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
