- Examples of general work experience could include: Performed office work such as answering telephone calls, filing, typing, checking e-mails, opening mail, routing mail, making copies and scheduling meetings; used common office machines or equipment such as personal computers, copying machines, and fax machines.
- Qualifying specialized experience is defined as meeting one or more of the following: Filed and retrieved documents in a dispatching office; assisted in preparing various plans, guides, and special reports for dispatch use; received and processed requests for equipment, personnel, and supplies in conjunction with fire and emergency incidents; followed detailed procedures for processing weather management information.
- Qualifying specialized experience is defined as meeting one or more of the following: Observed field work projects; assisted in the central dispatch of personnel, equipment, aircraft, and supplies for fire, and other normal administrative traffic; collected, processed and disseminated weather information into computer programs or databases; arranged for ground and air transportation of personnel, supplies, and equipment in support of emergency and project activities.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
