- Within LSEG, the Power, Natural Gas, Coal, and Carbon Research division (formerly known as Point Carbon, Thomson Reuters, and Refinitiv) has a strong presence in the commodity community.
- Position Overview: The primary focus will be on improving and developing products for US ISO markets (including PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, ISONE, CAISO, MISO, and SPP) and will work very closely with existing US-based Research teams in Carbon and Natural Gas, as well as our Oslo-based Power Research team.
- This involves writing reports, guiding quantitative modeling, and forecasting prices based on factors such as demand, renewable generation, dispatchable generation, and transmission constraints, as well as structural market changes.
- Education: A higher education degree (MSc or PhD level) in fields such as economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, statistics, applied physics, meteorology, or equivalent.
- Statistical Background: Proficiency in statistics and machine learning techniques, particularly when applied to meteorological data.
