Program and Job Description: The breadth of our innovative programs provides the widest range of choices for every member of our team. Within the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control, the Office of Planning, Policy, and Administration monitors key program indicators that assess program services and program performance; and conducts priority program evaluation research projects findings which inform tuberculosis control policy and practice and help determine program budgets for efficient spending on program services. The Bureau of Tuberculosis Control, Office of Planning, Policy, and Administration is looking for a qualified Lead Data Analyst who is interested in evaluating Tuberculosis public health programs. People with TB and other respiratory illness are at an increased risk for poor health outcomes. The selected candidate will be assigned to the central office in Queens, New York where they will work with city research scientists, epidemiologists, physicians, case managers, and other staff on collaborative program evaluation projects. Manage evaluations related TB control and prevention
Lead team of analyst to assess internal indicators, identify aberrations in trends, develop new program indicators
Analyze data from the surveillance registries, electronic medical records, and non-traditional data sources
Present data reports, dashboards, manuscripts, and other documents based on program evaluation projects.
Respond to data requests from internal and external partners.

1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.
To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have:
1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or
2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above. NOTE:

Graduate credits or relevant experience in appropriate fields of study may be acceptable. Previous experience working in fields related to in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or other appropriate fields of study. Strong analytical skills and ability to manage and report complex information. Experience with data collection, data analysis and interpretation. Capacity and willingness to learn methods of program evaluation. Proficient in R, SAS, or other statistical software The ideal candidate for this position must be a proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to work in teams and in a highly dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and timelines. Experience with stakeholder engagement and project management. Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
